Never missing a day of work as the host of the “The Tonight Show” for 17 years, Jan Leno finally succumbed to illness and spent a night in St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank after the host told his staff that he was “not feeling well”. Leno’s spokesmen told the press that Leno wasn’t feeling well and was rumored to have suffered from food poisoning.

Leno was released Friday from the hospital and was seen back at the studio writing a few jokes for his Monday show.

NBC aired re-runs in place of Thursday and Friday’s “The Tonight Show” when Leno called in sick.
