Seven time winner of the Tour de France, Lance Armstrong, is expecting a baby from his girlfriend Anna Hansen.

Armstrong gave this statement to AP:

“Anna and I are thrilled to confirm that we are expecting in June and our families are ecstatic and grateful,” Armstrong told The Associated Press on Tuesday night. “We are very much looking forward to what 2009 brings on many fronts. We appreciate respecting our privacy, as we are both eager to celebrate the holidays as a family.”

Armstrong will be returning to the Tour de France in 2009 after retiring. He will attempt to raise global awareness of cancer through his comeback.

Previously given a 50 percent chance of survival by doctors in 1996, Armstrong now has testicular cancer behind him.
