An F-18 fighter jet crash into a San Diego neighborhood Monday, killing three people and destroying two homes on its way back to a Marine base after a training exercise.

The pilot was able to eject safely just before the crash at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

Three people were reportedly killed including two children, a mother and a grandmother. Anther person is also said to be missing by fire officials.

“We just know that four people were inside, and three of them have been accounted for,” Fire Department spokesman Maurice Luque said.
