A 5-7 season is hard for any college football team. even more so for it’s coach. The Auburn Tigers sent their head coach, Tommy Tuberville, packing Wednesday, after his 10 year post with Auburn.
Tommy Tuberville was fired after the Tigers complied an 85-40 record, culminating with the 36-0 shutout by Alabama on Sunday afternoon. The rumors that floated several days ago after days of meetings were cleared when they axed Tuberville following the 5-7 record.
Tuberville led Auburn to a 13-0 season and an SEC Championship in 2004, and another SEC Championship Game appearance in 2000. Tuberville was 5-3 in bowl games at Auburn, and missed bowl games only twice during his tenure at Auburn, his first year in 1999, and his last year in 2008.
