Chris Brown

Snagging three major at the young age of 19 is no small feat. R&B singer Chris Brown won three top awards at the American Music Awards (AMA) 2008, including the coveted Artist of the Year.

Brown also took home the best male prize in both the soul/R&B and pop/rock categories.

R&B/Soul singer Alicia Keys was nominated for 5 awards but only took home a couple including the year’s best album “As I Am”. Coldplay and the Eagles were also nominated but did not take home any statuettes.

Other winners of the AMA include Taylor Swift for best female country singer, Brad Paisley won favorite male country singer and Annie Lennox, who won the Award of Merit.
