Two brush fires are sweeping Southern California and have already charred more than 7000 acres of woodland and properties. Driven by the summer winds, wildfires can quickly spread through the forest tops and even past constructed firebreaks.
Hundreds of residents have already been evacuated to make-shift evacuation centers as police and firefighters try to contain the fires. Thousands of firefighters are currently deployed as well as the U.S. National Guard with C-130 Hercules planes equipped with fire retardant payloads.
